That’s Gross

That’s Gross is a laid-back hockey show hosted by three unapologetic "hockey guys" from New England — JB, Mike and Jake. Self-proclaimed pigeons with a passion for the game (and a few excuses for why they never made The Show), they bring a mix of insight, chirps, and chaos to every episode.

The show covers everything from NHL headlines and Boston Bruins breakdowns to league-wide stories, current events, and personal tales from their own lives. If you love hockey culture as much as you love the game itself, That’s Gross is for you.

This isn’t just another hockey podcast — it’s your favorite locker room banter, a hockey lifestyle dialogue.

The boys are back and the Bruins are buzzing to start the year and talk hockey. We break down Boston’s 3–1 start — from Elias Lindholm’s smooth fit to Mittelstadt’s impact, Zacha’s strong play, both goalies holding it down, and the depth finally showing up. Powerplay? Clicking. PK? Locked in. Vibes? Immaculate.
Mike’s fresh off an Italian adventure and shares some travel chaos (including the art of not talking on planes), plus we get into the hunt for a new car and some quick hits from around the NHL. It’s a little Bruins therapy, a little life talk, and a whole lotta gross.

With our fearless host Mike off exploring the pasta, wine, and history of Italy for the next couple of weeks, Jake and JB are stepping up to keep the ship sailing—and the takes flowing. Just because one of us is living the dream doesn’t mean the hockey world slows down, and there’s a lot to cover this week.
In this episode, the boys dive deep into the latest buzz around the league, starting with some major recent signings that have already started shaping the upcoming season. From surprising contract numbers to teams making bold moves, Jake and JB give their unfiltered reactions and what it all might mean heading into the first puck drop.
Closer to home, they break down what the Boston Bruins' Game 1 roster might look like. Will the lineup bring the grit, speed, and skill fans are hoping for? Or are there still question marks that need answers? Whether you're a die-hard B’s fan or just love solid hockey talk, there’s plenty here for you.
And of course, it wouldn’t be an episode without a few classic stories from the rink—including some pickup hockey moments that were equal parts chaotic, hilarious, and painfully relatable.
Expect laughs, questionable takes, and that signature “gross hockey boys” energy we’ve built this show on.
Thanks as always for tuning in—we appreciate every one of you for riding with us. We’re fired up for the season ahead, and even with Mike overseas, the hockey talk doesn’t stop. Let’s go!
Oh and ya, keep an eye out for some more Gross Hockey Merch...

The preseason is underway and the boys are buzzing. Mike, JB, and Jake are back – and this time we’ve got our buddy "Meis" joining the show, bringing some stats, betting lines, and plenty of hot takes. We kick things off with early thoughts on preseason action before diving into season predictions across the NHL, including which teams could surprise and who might fall off.
We get into the Bruins – what they look like heading into the year, and why there’s definitely “Sum 2 Prove in Boston.” Then we go around the league with breakout player picks, too early Cup Final predictions, and bold calls on teams that haven’t made it recently but could sneak in this year.
The guys also chop it up about players labeled as those who “can’t win” – like Matthews and Marner – and debate whether that narrative is fair, if other sports have similar storylines, or if it’s something unique to hockey.
On top of that, we mix in some laughs:
The biggest scumbags in sports history (inside and outside hockey)
The dumbest things we’ve ever done, and the learning moments that came with them
Packed with hockey talk, betting chatter, and plenty of Gross humor, this one sets the stage for the season ahead.

Mike, JB, and Jake are back from Warrior Ice Arena with fresh thoughts on Bruins training camp and players who stood out. We talk why people outside the organization are so low on this team, and why they could be missing something. Are the Bruins closer to contending than people think? We dive into potential roster surprises, expectations, and the team’s eventual path to a Cup.
We also break down the NHL rumor mill — from Kaprizov, McDavid, to hypothetical blockbuster trades for Crosby or Eichel tied to James Hagens, to which moves could actually make sense. Bruins Be a GM Mode: Would you trade Hagens for a superstar center who can step in now?
And of course, we talk Paul “BizNasty” Bissonnette — not just his rise from glue guy in the locker room to legendary media voice, but the bigger question: how good of a playing career would it take for you NOT to trade it for Biz’s path? With his post-career run, personality, and how much he’s changed the game, it’s a debate that sparks laughs and perspective.
Bruins fans, NHL rumors, and BizNasty debates — this one’s loaded.

In Episode 23 of That’s Gross, Mike, JB, and Jake are joined by Cesar Lucero — better known online as BigCeaz or Cesar Inspires. A passionate Florida Panthers fan and social media personality, Cesar has turned his battle with osteogenesis imperfecta, a rare bone disease, into a platform to entertain, motivate, and inspire thousands.
We talk through his incredible journey as a fan and a person: from getting pulled on stage at Miami’s iconic 11 nightclub by Matthew Tkachuk, to partying with the Stanley Cup champions, to his hilarious back-and-forth with Paul Bissonnette. Cesar shares how hockey has given him some of the best moments of his life, all while spreading his message of living strong and taking things “one shift at a time.”
This episode has it all — laughs, storytelling, and plenty of inspiration — even if it meant reliving some of Boston’s lowest hockey memories through Cesar’s eyes.

In this week’s episode, we sit down with Tony Sauce, a Massachusetts-born hockey creator who’s taking the YouTube hockey world by storm. Tony grew up playing hockey all the way through college, and now films his men’s league journey as his team battles their way up the divisional ranks — bringing fans along for every gross goal, hilarious chirp, and scrappy battle on the ice.
Tony’s story started behind a controller, creating NHL video game content. But that passion inspired him to lace up the skates again, hit the rink, and capture the real thing for the hockey community. With a mix of raw game footage, locker room laughs, and all the ups and downs of men’s league hockey, his content is as authentic as it gets.
We talk about his playing career, his journey from video games to the rink, his most unforgettable stories, what it’s really like filming men’s league chaos, and where he plans to take his content in the future.
Sit back, crack a cold one, and enjoy the ride.

From Guilford High to juniors in Alaska to Endicott College, Jack Ring takes us on a wild ride through his hockey journey. He spills what the NAHL is really like, shares unreal travel stories, life in the Last Frontier, and the time things got so heated he fought his own coach. His interview starts at 16:37 and ends at 1:33:17. Jake, JB and Mike also swap men’s league tales, recap our weekends, and talk about how the Kraken’s mascot Buoy almost met his end in the worst way possible. Buckle up—this one’s a beauty.

In this laid-back summer episode, JB and Mike get into it all — bad drivers, comment section warfare, people with zero self-awareness, and the beautiful chaos of men’s league hockey. They show some love to Cole Sillinger in his life after Tate McRae, talk politics in hockey, and call out anyone who wants the smoke in NHL 26 (bring it).
Plus, a look at what’s next for Gross Hockey content — where it’s going, how we’re growing it, and why this is just the beginning. We also encourage any listeners to DM us on instagram (thatsgrosshockey) with thoughts, ideas, hot takes, and anything else.
